A question..if the group presets the detectors at home, does one still need to noise cancel..not because of each other but because of cell phones and other interferences? And, if one does Noise Cancel doesn't this now change your frequency and the others might have to change theirs as well...making the preset at home null and void?

Yes of course... you are just ensuring that all detectors can work together.... you are right that one of the detectors is likely to still need to be adjusted due to EMI.

Also you are right about frequency change.... Some of the SE noise cancel settings are better than others.
On the E-Trac I have found this to be more so.... Settings of 2 or 4 are the best on my detector, and I will play "E-Trac chicken" whenever I detect close to anyone using the same setting (pretend I can't hear any interference in the hope they hit noise cancel first.)
