    Wow!

    CTX 3030
Having taken only a little interest in the CTX3030 so far, as I am very happy with my Explorer SE, (it amazes me at how sensitive it is, finding tiny coins and artefacts regularly), I thought that after my long day's driving today, I would sit down tonight with a cold beer and watch some videos about this new detector.
Well I must say that so far I am impressed, it looks a great detector and I've enjoyed watching the clips on here. I know that lots of emotions were stirred up on MLO with the introduction of the CTX3030 and the new look website etc, the new machine was not what a lot of us were expecting, I think we were hoping to see a Deus style detector......only a much better Minelab one, and the price is a hell of a lot of money here in the UK...can we really justify spending that amount on a detector we ask?
Having watched the videos tonight and sat on the side watching the comments posted, I have made my mind up. I personally think that the CTX3030 is a fantastic piece of kit, it is a detector that I want to buy, learn and master. Yes...it's bloody expensive, but I think as this has been my hobby which has brought me so much pleasure for 34 years, I've worked hard and paid my taxes since leaving school in 1979, and this life is not a rehearsal...it's what we have been dealt and one day we will all be too old or unable for one reason or another to get out on our fields and beaches detecting. We will be remembering fondly the days we were fit and young enough to get out and find wonderful coins and artefacts.
I think my mind is made up, the CTX3030 has seduced me...I want one!

    Get it...

I just can't bring myself to spend the money. I knew the Explorer was better than the Soveriegn but it took me 14 years to decide to upgrade.
    Finding ancient rubbish since 1977.
    With help from:

    Re: Wow!

I just love mine. Still learning its quirks but found me a Edward the Confessor penny and a 1/4 gold stater so far.

Not saying my ETrac would have missed them but its a joy to use.

Also now used it at the beach now twice, changed a few settings, its a great beach detector also. Dont believe the people saying it falses in the waves. I used mine a long time in the wet and surf last Thursday and not a peep from the wave wash. banged out the coins when other were fidning very little. Had 49 keepers in the end.
