Why would it get up my nose, just means there's more deeper stuff left behind for me to pick up with the CTX.
I just get bored of reading Jerry's anti Minelab/Codan pooh and I can't seem to find the ignore button.
The above is just the opinion of Flossyrockstar and not of anyone he is associated with. This post may contain diatribe of a contentious and sesquipedalian nature. Terms and conditions apply, may contain nuts, always read the label.

When you consider the Grey Ghost headphones and a set of Backphones thrown in as well that is a serious loss at the price it went for, but if something isn't right for you it's a bigger loss to keep it mothballed.

true that but i have had the ctx from day one and i detect a lot and im still learning all the time with it so i would say he might have jumped ship a bit early........having said that we dont know why hes selling.

Well I spent a very enjoyable day today filming the Bliss V3i with Daryn in the welsh countryside. We buried cut quarters, halves and whole hammered, a sceat, styca, Denarii and finally a Silver stater. The Bliss performed admirably on some very difficult ground. we used both the 11" and 15" coils the larger one coming out by far the best. Depths achieved with the coil also 2" above the ground were cut qtr 2", cut half 6", hammered penny 8", Styca 8", Sceat 8", Denari 12" and finally Silver Stater 13".
The biggest embarrassment for me was when we ran the CTX over the same buried coins and it really struggled in all metal to barely see some of them let alone sing out like the bliss did. The result will be up on the Bliss forum and You tube no doubt as soon as Daryn has had a chance to run it through. One things for sure that guy certainly knows his machine inside out and how to get the best out of it.
Why Waste time using an ordinary detector when you have the option to own a CTX3030.

    Re: Bargain CTX.....

A lot of people are interested that's for sure. I tried everything to get the CTX to see those finds better yesterday. Goes back to the fact that minelabs don't do air basically or fresh dug holes refilled. Dont have trouble finding stuff in undug situations in the field in fact in my book the ctx matches the bliss finds wise for numbers but its! definitely not so deep when they both have similar coils on.
For a machine that's a third of the price the bliss is a no brainer even if it does look like something out of the arc.
Biggest problem at the moment is getting the back log of orders cleared both here and in the states where its becoming really popular.

I owned the bliss for 8 months.
Its a great detector on well detected roman sites that have been detected for years and will find those deeper hard to get targets that the Etrac and F75,s cant reach.
It throws the signals out really well but after digging a dozen plus 12- 18 inch holes every day and getting iron and coke cans it gets tedious and above all very exhausting.
Its a good detector no question, but on virgin sites you will dig plenty and hurt plenty.
    Be warned.

i agree whigs - theres always trade offs - to be honest when you have top machines of which they all are ...its down to preference - tailoring to your general detecting - i know the etrac a great machine even though i like the 705 best ....the ctx is proving to suit many so my initial reluctance about it has been proven wrong already.
im not going to upset folk by keeping going on about the price or launch for that - but when you look at all the high end detectors which they all are - its not competitive in price even though it does the biz.
Im sorry that ive upset you all with the perception of negativity - i just wear my heart on my sleeve - and as tombs put it can be a nob sometimes

and even though of late ..me and you aint necessay seen eye to eye on here.....i know you know your stuff ..and without sounding to much like tombs have much knowledge ....i learnt alot about the etrac from you and your posts - so hope you can let the water pass under the bridge.
ps andy murray - doing dam good of late
    peace
