Ummm? A flare? A bomb? Explosive?? ID REQUIRED PLEASE.

    A strange object is this.

It was about 7 inches long, maybe an inch & a half across the top. It is sealed with a type of cotton like tape, its made of aluminum and 100& still had its contents inside.( the contents moved inside when you shook the can)
Printed on the outside in black it read something like,...EXPLOSIVE ACTG CHGE FOR SP?? CHEMICAL L1A1

I spoke to my brother over the phone who is in the RAF Regiment and he thought it could possibly be a rocket flare or similar??

Anyhow its back in its original hole which if need be can be easily found again.

    Any suggestions???
And yes it did get ****ted by the spade!!

yes it does look like a pyrotechnic canister with a screw lid with tape securing said lid, i'd leave well alone (DONT OPEN) and inform the police of its location mate, GL

With a requirement to stand back 5m it must be about as powerful as a garden firework.

im not saying you are wrong but all pyrotechnics can severely injure and maim especially if they go off in the hand, a comparison would be that most modern hand grenades have an injury radius of about 15m and are only lethal to about 5m and you would have to pretty damn unlucky too die at that range, when alls said and done i wouldnt like whatevers in the tin to explode in MY hand
