Any new's from Corfe ? Appreciate not all will be able to post or maybe not feel up to posting as yet,but wondered if there was any new's,photo's etc.Seem's very quiet

Was there yesterday I found a silver thimble Rome grot a vicy six pence a token from 6 years ago and the normal bits of junk It's not so muck what you find it's the laugh you have with all the members, it not my place to say what was found by the other I will wait to see there posts.
Stayed for the raffle so I also know who won the goodies

There were a few nice finds but not from the usual areas. Most of Norden was very quiet once more. The best finds came from an area where nobody has ever thought of looking before. I dont think too many people will be mentioning where that area was exactly because of the other outfit who are shanghaing our little spot in a couple of weeks for another rally. All I can say is theres going to be some very disappointed and teed off detectorists on that rally after paying 20 quid a day + to muscle in on something we have had a very good 12 years detecting on. I'm afraid they aint going to find much. The fields were really quiet this year even on our second farm to the point where I dont think we could manage to carry off another rally on the same scale as we have done in the past. Maybe we will just have a small social get together in the future for the regular diehards and find a new site for the main get together like Bedford.
Thanks to the fifty or so detectorists plus their wives and girlfriends for supporting us this year so that we could put some much needed funds towards paying for the forum server. I was a bit disappointed that there were another 30 - 40 names who said they were coming but then didn't bother to say they couldn't, just as well because there wouldn't have been enough of the pig roast left for them anyway. That went off a treat and was so mouth wateringly good, dont know why we havent done that every year.

My impressions, a good freindly, funny few days of "extreme detecting". There were a surprising number of quality finds but these had to be worked for, they took hard work and sneaky imagination to find. What was missing was the "background noise" of more average finds.

Thanks as ever Tony for organising Corfe rally. My best find was a potential roman tile with a makers mark. I'll try and post it tomorrow if I get time. Also thank you very much for my raffle prize...a minelab probe!
