Better to ring the owner or a contact direct. I found a blackberry a couple of months ago in a sodden state. I dried it out, charged it and called the owner. From our conversation I found out the owner had lost it whilst on holiday, so I posted it off. I received a wonderful thanku card and 40 quid. So there was no need to involve the police, as they cannot be trusted.Originally Posted by Wyn

personally i think the owner wanted rid of that awful device, but its always nice to return to the original owner
this is of course is my personal opinion of the device
police will keep it dial any number and ask whose number is calling they will have the name
