Extra weight and not necessary in my opinion.
Just buy a cheap plastic casio and put it on your wrist. You could also have stuck it on the top of Your Garrett pro pointer if you own one and dont have to turn or move anything round to tell the time.

The last thing I'm interested in when I'm detecting is the time....cool idea though!

That thing weighs nothing! Its plastic! Light as a feather!
    In my case its necessary.
I quit wearing my watch out detecting as it got all cruded up and scratched when scooping out loose dirt from deep holes in the heat of battle.
You know the drill, PPer in right hand....watch on left wrist!

Some of us old timers need to know when its time for supper!

    eTRAC Round Watch Review
Had it out today and knew the exact time at a glance without rolling up my sleeve to look at my watch.
The velcro fastener it comes with is small and IMO not strong enough to withstand the rigors of detecting as it tends to flop around.
Gonna pitch the velcro and just double side sticky tape to the detector on top left side of the detector housing instead of the top center.
