The talking metal detector
Twenty years ago in 1992 Garrett brought out the innovative Grand Master Hunter CXIII, the world’s first talking metal detector. Alas, it never caught on … I wonder why?

Interesting, I didn't realize that such a futuristic machine ever existed. I however must agree with your friend Dave when he says:
