CTX Pinpoint trace shapes on the screen

I noticed yesterday that when using pinpoint trace different targets make different shapes on the screen. Has anyone noticed any patterns which indicate what lies beneath before digging?
Twice iron signals gave a long trace like a lightening bolt that stretched from top to bottom of the screen on a slant.
One copper penny close to the surface gave a sausage shape and all the others that gave a trace were roundish or clumped together!
Any thoughts or ideas appreciated here, apologies if it's been mentioned before

When did you buy a CTX? Looks like it is a really good machine.
Iwas on my way to buy it, but since I guess it is rather complicated to pull apart I choose the Etrac instead.

I often use my bicycle for taking me to the places I want to detect and carry the detector in a backpack.
Well I looking forward to see the machine in real life and of course you as well:-)

Have got a new assignment from Gordon&McPhail,yes work...Need to get some pub images,people with interesting character.Not an easy task since they should be enjoying G&M products. Anyone out here liking that idea? Having a wee dram in pub milieu....
