ctx3030 vs etrac SEF/ultimate vs deus

i thought it might be quite interesting to test the ctx against the the etrac with the sef and ultimate coils and i have thrown the deus in there to.....well i couldn't leave it out could i?
its taking a wile to load up all the videos but the first three are up.

that ultimate coil if you work it looks realy good strong clear signals. but there realy isnt anything between the etrac and ctx ok so it faster finds rate will go up but if you got time etrac wont miss it as allways a very good test tombs nice work.

yeah i have to agree with you the ctx with std coil does find that little bit more but if you put the ultimate coil on the etrac its almost a level playing field...........unless it rains!

Havent had time to watch the videos but spect both left the Deus wanting very badly, well thats what I found in real life on my ground, constantly, thats why it had to go.
Havent used the CTX enough to measure it against the ETrac. All I know is its nicer to use, more bells and whistles, lets you change tones for different areas of the screen etc, etc, etc. A great easy to use menu,lovely balance, waterproof so no worries needing covers etc, all in all Id say I reckon whereas most detectors could be classed as dependable like your Fords or vauxhalls and do a reasonable job, your ETracs are in the Mercedes / BMW bracket just that little bit special and classy but the new CTX is like owning and driving a Rolls Royce it just feels like different class when your using it. Personally I love it.

Thanks for showing us your tests Tombs.
I found them very interesting, although my 15x12 SEF may now need changing to the ultimate.
Also my ET will not be making way for the CTX.

I still think that the tones on the ET are better if you tamper with the tone ID on the CTX . Still to check the Conductive tones but i think for dry weather the ET is the detector of choice on the trashy beach.

Get and use the CTX properly Richard instead of guessing it. People are waiting to hear what you think of it on the beach.

Already used it a few times Tony but find on the local trashed up beach that the ET has the edge on tones. Will use again if the weather is wet , to used to using the Terra most of the time and getting the goods.

Wow, really good videos Tombs...lots of information there. I wonder how the NEL Tornado would do in that test.... At any rate, top marks....probably the best CTX/ETRAC comparison video out there at the moment.

i use pitch hold because it stops me getting hearing fatigue.

Knew i couldn't understand the tones , how anyone can understand Pitch hold , Smooth , Long or whatever beats me ! That is real fatigue of the ear oles.

Now then matey, what was the size of the Nel coil? Iv been using the SEF 15 inch and its a bit of a weight!
