    ctx first impressions

    CTX 3030
ive had my ctx for a few days now and i must admit overall im impressed with the machine but there are few things bugging me.

1, it doesnt come with a instruction manual and im now thinking about getting one printed(has anyone done this yet and what sort of price does it cost in the uk)£2000 is a lot of money to fork out and one should come with it.

2,you call that a stand below the battery?it doesnt keep the machine stable when you put it down or keep it clean.

3,And finally I dont understand why minelab have not come out with any covers for this machine yet or any of the other manufacturers for that matter.

Other than that i really love the ctx and on my first day out with it found a handful of coins from one of my well hunted areas

I printed the manual and put the pages in clear folders , then in a ring binder, I think there were 60 plus pages in total. Yes the stand is a pain in the butt totaly useless, I am going to modify mine with some square section guttering and as for the screen cover, I reckon for £2000.00 there should be one provided, Fisher do this on the F75 Special Edition why cant Minelab, they wouldnt cost that much.

I also printed the full user manual out when in Norway and put in to a binder A4 size.

i will have to get it printed as i just dont have time to read it on the pc, as for the stand i may do the same as you dave and design and make a new one for it.

The manual is 74 pages and takes about 30 minutes to print; as for your other points, the question all of us are thinking is, "What was Minelab thinking?"

only for one reason i guess and thats to maximise profit unfortunately-i see it as taking the p*ss! i like to protect the whole upper machine-control box, handle etc...i had pro-tectors on my etrac and it kept it in tip top condition. ive just bought these off ebay to wrap around the upper stem and handle http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260654791463 hopefully it will work and keep it clean till pro-tectors bring something out

Alright jeff,I have it on my iPhone but find it slightly to small to read over a long period-like you say though it's ok just to look up something when your out and about.
