so i have orderd the ctx3030 but i am worried it wont live up to the hype . the plus points for me are water proof and thats about it i think i was like wtf to a video that tombs done he said ctx has been left at home for the etrac with ultimute coil that sounds warning bells to me because i bet hes out more than most.
just hope it was worth it cos if it dont live upto it prolly be first on ebay lmfao.

hi boomsmack, the problem is you seem to have already made your mind up that you have made a mistake. when it arrives ,set it up and get out on the fields with a positive head on your shoulders. you will not be disappointed i assure you. it'll be good to hear your feedback once you have used it for a few sessions. a few weeks back me and a mate were doing a roman patch on pasture and i had a lovely two way signal. my mate was using my se pro and i called him to listen to it but the se just nulled. it was a brass picture hook with the iron nail still in the hole. for me things like this this give me great confidence in the ctx . all the best sean

Well i've just done my first real session, 6 hours today, no way I could do that with the E-Trac due to balance. Had myself a nice bit of gold, and the machine behaved beautifully, waterproof for the beach, submersible for the Spanish trips, superbly deep on pasture and good in the iron.......what's not to like?

I think when you get a new machine of any kind it is important to at least start with a positive attitude. Hunting with a positive attitude while out on the field or at the beach is important and of course adds immensely to the fun factor for yourself and your hunting buddies around you.

ok so i had the ctx in field for about 12 hours and im finding big coins that sat near to iron on etrac great but i not finding the small bits im running gogs 4 tone programe max sense deep on fast on v gain 30 target seperation ferrous coin .any ideas guys.

try multi tones i find it much better for tiny stuff.

yes mate, the only draw back is the high tones are similar to iron like on the etrac. but on good sites alot of the stuff is small so i put up with it. im not sure if you could alter the tones when using multi tones.like you can with the others

you can alter the pitch start higher i think or lower what ever is you prefrence i just been doing some testing i might off been running it to hot not a 100 % sure but ill be back out monday see what happens again the thing is im in a good field off mine where i know theres hammerds half tempted just to pull the etrac back out before the time is up cos its a large field.
