Just like to thank danny for organisng the dig , i didnt find a lot myself but it was an enjoyable day out
and the chance to put some faces to names of other forum users .

I'd like to second that. A very enjoyable day out. Met some nice fellow detectorists. Didn't find much either but I'm slowly learning about the CTX 3030.

Danny, Thank you so much for the invite to this dig. The boys from Cumbria had a fantastic day, I spent most of my time chatting and managed to learn even more about the Etrac from Tombs and Etracer. I may not have made many finds, but I most deff found some new friends which means more to me. You guys are a credit to the hobby and we were made to feel very welcome by all who we had met. I wish I could have stayed for the Sunday now, but my mate glass back wouldnt have been able to put up with his back pain. I will try and get to another of these and hopefully stay overnight next time and have a few beers and get to chat with the members I never got round to chatting to at this one.. I took quit a bt of video footgage from the dig and managed to get on film a few of the finds although I missed filming the Plane crash and the posey ring find (sick)..

I now know how much I am actually missing with my machine and a special thanks to Etracer for letting me have a shot of his headphones and showing me the errors I make when listening for the signals I should be digging.

thanks for a great weekend danny really good to meat all you guys............only thing that annoyed me was that all the hammys have been cut into tiny tiny bits in Lincoln! all i had was three cut quarters a cut half and a bloody tiny little foreign hammered.......... and i thought the welsh where poor!

Absolutely brilliant weekend and wonderfully organised Danny. Tombs, first time I've heard a Soldino described as "a bloody tiny little foreign hammered" . The list of fab finds is amazing for so few people:- a 1650 posy ring in pure gold with writing on outside as well as in, Ange's lovely stuff, and her Commonwealth penny, load of hammies and cut quarters (!!!) and the most gorgeous little Roman brooch with the pin still in place found by Etrecker. Mick found a Sesterus at the very end. I found all sorts of bits and bobs but no 'keepers, Ruby and I have slept ever since as it was very hot. But there was some real ingrate who asked for his money back on Sunday because he didn't find a stater and believe it or not Danny gave it to him. You know who you are........
