Has the Grey Ghost/CTX 3030 problem been fixed?

Are the Grey Ghost makers going to modify the input jack to the CTX 3030 so that the sound from the CTX speaker is muted?

I dont bloody well believe this , the only headphones i have that i like on the ET and they dont work on the CTX, i am getting really P%$*"* off now, its bad enough with the apalling battery consumption and the lack of box covers and user manual and the Koss phones having sound that is muffled . I am losing faith big time in this machine and think the ET is far better for me. Very glad i did not go ahead with my sale.
But this may go instead , if i cannot set up this machine and trust it to match the ET then it goes.

Stop moaning richard I did try and tell you to stick with what you had. There was nothing wrong with the Koss sound on my ctx its just the fit that I and hundreds of others dont like with them. Got my koss once again put inside a proper set of cans and everythings fine. At least your using the CTX now. As for setting it up to match the ET it'll more than do that, I'm very happy with mine. Biggest problem I have is finding time to use the CTX and the Bliss, two very good detectors.
Why Waste time using an ordinary detector when you have the option to own a CTX3030.

Agghh F"*%$*&g Agghh , and now the battery charger does not work . Means a trip to JA in a couple of hours. And where's my Bliss ?

Tony if you put a pair of Gray Ghosts on the CTX or ET the tones or sound is sharp and clear but if you put the Koss on it is very dull and muffled. Not a good idea on the beach with more non ferrous than fields have.
Anyway Tony i still have the ET and Terra and they are not going anywhere, only thing i want to complete the arsenal is the new Terra .

Cant believe the battery consumption of this machine, put new AA Duracels in the spare pod ,started up to get the machine set up and in about half hour it had already lost a notch on the reading. Expensive machine to the hilt , roll on the new Terra ! thats the last for me till 2018 .

If i get this CTX in order then i am out tomorrow on the beach for the first time.

Grey Ghost and other American headphones with a stereo/mono switch, can be upgraded replacing it with a 6 pin dpdt on-on-on switch. Wiring is the same using the 5,2 (bridged) centre pins, and then using 3 and 4 on the outer pins. So the wiring of the old switch "1 2 3" becomes "3 5/2 4" on the new switch.

The centre position then becomes the CTX 3030 position.

Lets hope we get a positive spin tomorrow night then Richard. Spoke to Sean Mcgee today he's loving his for beach work. Definitely finding mine nicer to use in the fields than the ETrac or SE. So easy to change modes and even edit them in the field. Biggest problem is trying to see the screen in bright sunlight to edit specially with my old eyes.

I think the sheet on the screen doesn't help Tony, not sure what the beach will be like tomorrow and dont expect a lot.

Going with Terry (Goldfinger) with his ET.

Batteries are charged and hope they last the day, start time 11am till dusk. Or arm drops off.

Tony , how long does the Headphone remote battery power last ? using the Gray Ghosts so dont want to plug them in because of the speaker not silencing.

Havent a clue Richard I didn't buy the wireless remote, I bought the big coil instead. I am waiting for something else to come out in the wireless headphone department that will work on any detector, can't elaborate any more for the time being Im afraid. Your main batteries will last you all day plus some more. Anybody doing a lot of detecting like you in a stretch would be wise to get the spare alkaline pack as well, I did as a precaution.

I had the standard pack including the batt pod , will take both. The batts dont last very like the ET though.

Thanks Gordon , that should be enough.

Just found an old emergency charger of an old Deus i had , the type that runs on an AA battery. I plugged it into the wireless remote of the 3030 and it started to charge ! could be useful info to anyone that forgets to charge the wireless remote.
