Hey lads
My wife and daughter have gone off to spend a few days with her folks in Wales...so finding myself at leisure today I did what any self-respecting man owning a md would do and went detecting. Hit the patch of the Thames where I found my very first roman...and low and behold...found my 6th roman! Woo!
Just a little one. Tiny coin. Bronze. Commenmorative issue I think, under Constantine, to celebrate the 1100 anniversary of Rome's founding. Romulus and Remus on reverse, Roma all kitted out for a fight on obverse. Made me very happy to find it! Not especially rare I know...but a roman's a roman!
Also found a pewter head of a bulldog (go figure,), a few Viccy farthings and an old silver, but it's so so worn I can't ID it.
Nice little run out. Out again tomorrow too...
Cheers!!!
p.s. photo of r&r don't look so bloody fuzzy before posting...off to the pub nowno time to retake...
...sorry.
