No one here near South Devon or surrounds?![]()
Hi again, and thank you for the replies to my last post regarding meeting a detectorist near Bath. I have reached out to "The Chef" who very kindly offered to meet up while I'm in the UK, he's probably been as busy as I have been in the last week. If anyone here knows him, please ask him to check his PMs here and his email.
Now it seems that I will also be spending some time in South Devon (near South Pool) and I would enjoy meeting up with a detectorist in the area. As I mentioned before I'm more than happy to reciprocate by buying dinner/pints/paying for gas etc.
Best Regards from Erik in NJ (New Jersey/New York area)

Hi Erik, I'm in Devon, but South Pool is a loooong way down in the South Hams. It's a good hour and ten minutes from me. Even getting to it from the nearest Town of Kingsbridge takes a good ten minutes. However, you could have some good finds down there for just that reason I'd say. at the top of the creek at South Pool there is a nice Pub and small bridge, people are bound to have dropped stuff into the creek and it's tidal, so you could find anything in there! Well worth a good look, though there could be a lot of iron and junk as well. If you venture a bit further the foreshore and beaches at East Portlemouth and out around Prawle Point could well be worth a look as well. Those beaches have seen many wrecks throughout history and they have very few visitors, some of them only reached by boat, you could find anything!
