First hammered coin with my replacement CTX 3030

Having had my defective CTX 3030 replaced by those great guys in Ireland, I took it out for it's second spin yesterday.

I was really pleased to pull out the hammy shown below:



For those, like myself, who are interested in settings, here are a few details:

Site:
Recently cut for silage but the grass is growing at an alarming rate. The ground was very dry and not the easiest to dig.

Machine set-up:
Gordon Heritage's Combined Programme together with his Universal Settings. I varied the response between "smooth" and "normal" and worked in Manual Sensitivity (set at 24). The ground reading was a constant 21.

Target depth and sound:
The coin was located at a depth of 4" and gave a delightful low grunt.

Also found this post medieval (circa 17th - 18th century) fragment of a rowel spur.



Could not include it with the above because I am unable to edit my post - even though I tried within 30 seconds.

I've not seen better photographs of coins/artefacts on any other detecting forum and was going to ask you questions. However, your web page answers them all. I'm thinking seriously of reproducing your set-up even to include the specified camera.

Since you come from Northern Ontario, I can fully understand why you enjoy the detecting visits you make over here.
