Cool Not much going on here in the USA Forum

Just wondering how many members we have from the US, is there anyone from Washington State here?

Does anyone go down to Arizona during fall & winter to look for gold nuggets?

I was in Arizona in March, but didn't get any time to detect or prospect. I'd love to get a trip going, though!

How's the detecting in your area? What's your main type of area, residential parks, home sites, or what? I confess I don't know a lot about WA state....

    Hi Pat,

Sorry for not getting right back to you, I have a bad cold and it's been years since I've had one, no fun.

I live out on the coast of Washington State, the nearest town Forks, I call the town "Twilight Ville", after the movie.

Just getting started in detecting, don't have much right here, in town, a park, homesteads around too.

    You must travel a lot?

I spent a couple months in Arizona back the the 80's between jobs looking for work. I spent a lot of time hiking in the deserts around Phoenix and Tuscon. Looking back now, there were a lot of quartz rocks laying around and areas which could of had nuggets. I think i could of done well if i had a detector.
But finding a job during that recession was my top priority back then. Was offered a position with a utility company out of Yuma but declined. Desolate area to say the least.

Remember researching gold prospecting once in the local Tempe library but nothing ever came of it.
If i only knew then what i know now!

    Hi k9,

And in return, sorry for not getting back to YOU sooner....was traveling again. Yes, I seem to travel more than I'm home, lately. Between the work we do for Mapletree and Minelab, and the stuff I do for the college and the state government, I'm on the road a lot.

So you live near Forks, huh??? I know of several hundred thousand people who would be extremely envious!

    Hi Pat & everyone!

You must be talking about the Twilight Freaks, they are here, all the time!

My wife and I live 15 miles south of town and have 10 acres of beautiful rain forest land, all wooded with ferns and old growth maples, spruce, hemlock, alder, cedar and the Hoh River about 200 yards away. Also, a herd of Elk that come in the yard. We just built our retirement home two years ago, I keep the place looking like a park; someone needs to make a movie here on our property. Still working on my mother in laws wood for next winter...then I get to play, again.

Has anyone been to Rich Hill Area in Arizona?

    Hey moparado! thanks for posting!

CTXcavator, Thank You for Serving and thanks for posting.
