New to Forum - wanted to share a great find :)

    Hi All,

Just wanted to say hi, introduce myself and share with you a great find. I'm Gold Digger Dave from Miners Den Australia.

We’ve just had a customer drop in to sell a small amount of his finds, whilst in the BendigoGold store he also pulled out a magnificent looking gold nugget weighing 447 grams or approximately 14.4oz with an approximate value of $22,500.

This beautiful nugget was found in Victoria on the slope of a hill about a foot and a half down, found with a Minelab GPX 4500 Metal Detector and a Minelab 18” Commander Mono Coil. It was just the second time he had used this coil and has only been detecting for about 12 months.
    A great find!!

Happy Prospecting and hope to read about some more great finds

Right..thats it !!! Just worked out how I can afford the new CTX3030.
Just head on up to the goldfields and find a lump of gold like that. Even a smaller one would be enough.
Thanks for showing and making us drool golddiggerdave.

...back again....this reminds me of the time ,long ago when I drove up to Wedderburn and bought a Minelab FT16000 (latest and greatest gold detector then) from Barrie Johnstone.
There was an old bloke in the shop that pulled out a nice 4 oz nugget from his pocket that he had recently detected.
Now that would do me nicely...

    Great find Dave.

The only gold I found would be a gold crown swallowed whilst eating dinner, after two days it was located and recovered. I made an appointment with the dentist who agree to refit the crown, on finishing the refit he said “right job done, should be OK but you may suffer bad breath for a couple of days”
And before you ask, it did not leave a love bite on the way out.

    Nice Dave.

I would just like to inform you that I lost a nugget very similar to that half way up a hill in Victoria a few years ago. Happy to supply my postal address.

very nice excellent find - well done -can i ask how does it work in Australia regarding laws on gold prospecting do you have to declare where you find these finds - do you have to buy permits to gold prospect ?
are the locations recorded ? is there a database kept ?

    hope you strike more
