Todays report from the Bedford rally. Got off to a bit of a slow start but somebody found a quarter gold stater plus another guy found a silver seal. I personally had a roman brooch plus a bronze roman and a complete Crotal bell. Not seen too many finds yet but one or two hammereds found also. The ground on the farm we did today was in superb condition, seeded and rolled, 100s of acres for 50 people to play on.

I attended yesterday and had an Eddy Penny and all the usual buttons and buckles etc, However I saw a Quarter Stater and 3 nice Saxon Pennies that came off one of the fields. Great dig and superb condition, most of the fields are all ploughed and rolled flat but could have done with a bit more moisture in the ground.
